My Background

My Journey Towards Air Evacuation Training in Thailand

As the Head of the Emergency Department, I am always seeking ways to improve not only my skills but also the capabilities of my team. The unpredictable nature of emergencies demands that we stay ahead of the curve, and one area I’ve been eager to explore further is air evacuation.

Why Air Evacuation?

Working in the emergency field has taught me one thing: time can save lives. Sometimes, the fastest and safest way to transport critically ill or injured patients is by air. But air evacuation isn't just about flying a patient from one point to another; it’s a delicate process that requires precision, teamwork, and expertise. This is why I’ve decided to take part in a specialized air evacuation training in Thailand.

What I Hope to Learn

This training will focus on:

  • How to safely transport patients by air: ensuring their condition remains stable throughout the journey.
  • Coordinating with aviation teams: learning how medical professionals and flight crews work together seamlessly.
  • Handling real-world challenges that come with air evacuations, from equipment setup to patient care in mid-air.

The idea of sitting in a helicopter or plane and being part of such critical care scenarios excites me. But more than that, it’s the thought of bringing this knowledge back to my hospital that drives me.

My Goals

Personally, I want to gain the confidence to handle air evacuation scenarios and share this expertise with my team. Professionally, I want to see our hospital become a leader in emergency response, including air evacuation. Imagine being able to respond swiftly to emergencies in remote areas—what a difference we could make!

Looking Forward

This training is not just about me—it’s about building a stronger emergency response system for our hospital and community. I hope to learn, grow, and bring back valuable insights that can help us save more lives.
